New Centre to bring together autonomous robotics, smart-factory automation, machine vision and applied research

My Equation, a brand of Tech Analogy Private Limited, is establishing a Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence at Silver Oak University, Ahmedabad, to create a dedicated environment for practical engineering, technology development, and applied research.

The Centre is being developed to bring together robotics hardware, automation systems, computing infrastructure, and technical expertise within the university campus. Its purpose is to help students and faculty work with physical engineering systems, develop prototypes, and understand how mechanical design, electronics, software, and artificial intelligence combine in real applications.

The facility is taking shape, with additional workstations, robotic platforms, and components being added in phases. Its development combines practical learning with opportunities for experimentation, system integration, and research involving students, faculty members, industry trainers, and subject matter experts.

A Miniature Smart Factory for Practical Engineering

A central element of the Centre’s development is an Industry 4.0 smart-factory demonstrator, organised around four connected functions:

  • Input and Sorting: Demonstrating how materials enter a process and are identified, sorted, and directed through an automated workflow.
  • Inventory and Storage: Exploring organised storage, sensor-based monitoring, material tracking, and handover between workstations and mobile robots.
  • Quality and Processing: Combining camera-based inspection, computer vision, robotic handling, and processing demonstrations.
  • Packaging and Dispatch: Demonstrating product tracking, scanning, labelling, and the movement of finished items towards dispatch.

Autonomous mobile robots form part of the planned material-handling environment, connecting activities across these functions. The setup is intended to help learners understand how individual machines, sensors, robots, and software systems work together within a coordinated industrial process.

Robotics, Perception, and Autonomous Systems

The Centre’s planned robotics and learning portfolio includes mobile and campus-delivery robots, TurtleBot-based learning, quadruped robotics, and robotic arm platforms. These provide opportunities to explore movement, balance, manipulation, control, and autonomous behaviour.

Supporting resources include embedded development boards, sensors, motors and actuators, cameras and vision hardware, computing workstations, and electronics assembly tools. Learning activities will cover robot design and kinematics, hardware assembly, embedded programming, computer vision, simulation, ROS 2, navigation, and motion planning.

The emphasis is on understanding the complete development process, from assembling and programming a robotic system to testing its behaviour, identifying faults, and improving its performance.

An Environment for Research and Development

The Centre is also being developed to support applied research, prototype development, and technical collaboration. Planned activities include project mentoring, hardware and software integration, experimental testing, technical documentation, and faculty engagement in robotics, artificial intelligence, and automation.

Industry trainers and subject matter experts are intended to contribute practical perspectives to this environment, while faculty development and research support will help connect laboratory work with longer-term academic and engineering projects.

Commenting on the initiative, Ratik Gupta, Founder & CEO of My Equation, said:

“We want students to experience the complete journey of building a robotic system – from understanding the problem and designing the hardware to programming, testing, and improving it. Through the Centre at Silver Oak University, we are creating a structured environment where students, faculty, and industry experts can work together on practical engineering and research.”

The initiative forms part of My Equation’s work in robotics development, technology education, and institutional Centres of Excellence. Further updates on the facility’s development, programme schedules, and participation will be shared through the company’s official communication channels.

For the information of students, parents, faculty members, institutional partners, and other stakeholders, My Equation confirms that its physical operations from its former premises at GUSEC, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, ceased in August 2026. The company no longer operates from that location. Enquiries regarding My Equation’s current programmes, facilities, and the Robotics and AI Centre of Excellence at Silver Oak University should be directed through the company’s official communication channels.
