Renesas Launches Its First Low-Voltage GaN Power Semiconductor for AI Data Centers and Humanoid Robots

Renesas has launched its first low-voltage GaN power semiconductor, targeting applications such as AI data centers, humanoid robots, and industrial automation. The product offers improved FOM performance, with hard-switching FOM reduced by up to 35% and soft-switching FOM reduced by up to 63% compared to similar GaN devices. It also provides higher efficiency and lower switching losses, enabling easier migration from silicon-based designs.
