Robotics researchers survey time spent integrating software to real robots
Survey: where does your time go between laptop and robot? (3 min, results shared back)
Study tracks engineering effort in moving software from simulation to physical robots. Survey invites input from various frameworks and platforms. Results to be shared in two weeks.

Hi all,
I am a robotics researcher looking at where engineering time goes when software moves from a
laptop or simulation to a real robot: integration, bring-up, timing, configuration, debugging
between parts. I am trying to measure this across different setups, not just ROS 2, so answers
from people using PX4, ArduPilot, bare-metal MCU code or in-house frameworks are equally welcome.

- 20 multiple-choice questions, about 3 minutes
- Anonymous, no email or name asked
- I will post the aggregated results in this thread in about two weeks
If you work on more than one kind of robot, answer for the one you spend the most time on. Multiple answers are accepted for choices marked with square instead of circle.
