VLA Embodied Intelligence Unmanned Boat Achieves End-to-End Autonomous Navigation, Redefining the Marine Industry Landscape

The VLA Embodied Intelligence Unmanned Boat, developed by Shenzhen Ocean University (in preparation) in collaboration with Southern University of Science and Technology, won the second prize in the autonomous obstacle avoidance competition for surface unmanned boats at the 2026 'Shenzhen Port Cup' Ocean New Productivity Innovation Competition. The unmanned boat employs an end-to-end architecture, integrating visual, linguistic, and action data to achieve autonomous decision-making and obstacle avoidance in complex sea conditions. This marks a leap from automation to intelligence in unmanned boat technology, offering new solutions for scenarios such as intelligent shipping and marine monitoring.
