IROS 2026 Best Paper Award Goes to a Newly Established Lab: Robots Now Have Long-Term Memory Framework
The Best Paper Award at IROS 2026 was given to research on long-term memory for robots, which introduced the LT-Mem framework. This framework addresses the issue of robots being unable to track object trajectories when entering the same room multiple times. The framework updates memory using a fluctuating score and performs well on the LT-VQA dataset, outperforming several baseline models. The research was conducted by the APRL lab at DGIST in South Korea, which was established less than a year ago. The two main authors enrolled in July 2025.
Embodied Intelligence Sees Paradigm Shift! EinsiaAI Releases EmbodiedEvo, Self-Evolving Coding Agent Climbs to the Summit of Embodied Robodojo
The Navers Lab team at EinsiaAI has introduced EmbodiedEvo, a self-evolving Coding Agent that accumulates coding skills and textual experience through interaction, enabling the Agent to complete tasks in unseen scenarios. In the RoboDojo benchmark, EmbodiedEvo achieved an average score of 45.08 and a success rate of 38.95%, surpassing all VLA/WAM, Agent, and Agent+VLA methods, taking the top position in the Agent track.
GreenWAM: A World Foundation Model for Robotics
This paper introduces GreenWAM, a world foundation model for robotics that serves both world modeling and policy generation roles. It achieves top-tier performance on WorldArena 1.0 and ranks among the top entries in RoboTwin 2.0. The model is adapted for real-world humanoid robots and distilled into a single-step policy for real-time control, with controlled experiments highlighting the benefits of robot specialization and maintaining world-model modes during policy adaptation.
Should General-Purpose Large Models 'Dimensional Strike' Embodied Intelligence? The First AA-Robotics Ranking is Here
The AA-Robotics v0.1 evaluation for the first time places general-purpose large models in real robotic tasks, testing their ability to control robotic arms to perform tasks such as pouring water, writing, and building with blocks. Although GPT-6 Astra leads in overall scores, the model still faces challenges in stability, speed, and cost efficiency in physical interactions, highlighting the gap between language understanding and physical execution.
Think Like a World Model, Act Like a VLA: Distilling World-Model Representations into Compact Robot Policies
This research proposes a method to distill world-model representations into compact robot policies by aligning student policies with a frozen world model during training. The approach achieves performance improvements on tasks like LIBERO and RoboCasa-GR1, with a 0.8B student reaching 97.9% on LIBERO and improving from 48.2% to 50.5% on RoboCasa-GR1. The method is also effective on real hardware, demonstrating broad representational prior rather than fragile network alignment.
Standing on the Shoulders of Midea: Welling Robotics Components Unveils Full-Stack Joint Solutions at the Industrial Expo
Welling Robotics Components, a subsidiary of Midea, has launched a new product lineup at the Industrial Expo, including force-controlled joint modules, high-performance frameless torque motors, and specialized harmonic and RV reducers. These products are designed to support the commercialization of humanoid robots and industrial automation, with performance metrics and production capacity highlighted as key differentiators.
Physical AI Enters the Scene! 2026 Industrial Expo: New Stories and Old Accounts in Industrial Robotics
At the 26th China International Industrial Expo, the term 'Physical AI' has become a central theme, marking a shift from traditional repetitive motion control to AI-driven autonomy in industrial robots. The event showcases advancements in perception, decision-making, and adaptability, with major players like Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, and Yaskawa emphasizing open platforms, cost optimization, and global expansion. However, challenges remain in data collection, return-on-investment timelines, and industrializing prototypes.
Gaussian-LIC2: LiDAR-Inertial-Camera Gaussian Splatting SLAM
This paper presents Gaussian-LIC2, a photo-realistic LiDAR-Inertial-Camera Gaussian Splatting SLAM system that simultaneously addresses visual quality, geometric accuracy, and real-time performance. The system incrementally reconstructs a large-scale 3D Gaussian map using camera and LiDAR data, enabling high-quality novel view rendering. It employs a lightweight zero-shot depth model to address under-reconstruction in LiDAR-blind areas and uses sparse LiDAR data to supervise Gaussian map optimization. The system also improves odometry robustness through photometric constraints in a continuous-time factor graph optimization framework.

Yueshang launches three new robotic products at the 2026 China International Industrial Robot Exhibition: VEGA 7, PULSA, and CRH. VEGA 7 emphasizes reliability with a 50,000-hour MTBF and industrial-grade design. PULSA offers high-speed industrial collaboration with speeds up to 790°/s. CRH targets demanding production lines with advanced safety and precision. These products reflect Yueshang's focus on industrial-grade reliability and performance in collaborative robotics.
From AI Agents to Robot Action: Building the Edge Architecture for Physical AI
The article explores the integration of AI agents with robotics through edge computing, emphasizing the use of standardized protocols like MCP and the separation of cognitive and motor functions. It discusses the advantages of edge processing over cloud-based solutions, including reduced latency and cost predictability, and outlines a phased approach for deploying physical AI in industrial settings.
LeRobot × Zenoh
LeRobot now supports remote inference, enabling policy execution on GPU servers or cloud while the robot continues to move. Cameras, motors, and recording remain on the robot's local computer, with actions streamed back. This allows for smooth motion with or without real-time communication, and supports deployment across lab networks or the internet via Zenoh routers.
